About Pediatric Physical Therapy

Physical Therapists (PT) are licensed professionals who work with children who have a variety

of congenital and non-congenital conditions, as well as developmental delays. PT’s work to

restore gross motor function and mobility, reduce pain and prevent injury through a variety of

methods including exercise, stretching, traction and massage.

Areas We Address in Physical Therapy

  • Decreased range of motion
  • Decreased strength
  • Decreased endurance
  • Abnormalities in gait and posture

A physical therapist consults with Orthopedic physicians and other specialists to assess the

need for braces or orthotics and other durable medical equipment, such as standing frames and

wheelchairs.

What to Expect

  • Comprehensive Evaluations: We assess each child’s physical abilities, strengths, and areas for growth through detailed evaluations, including movement patterns, balance, coordination, strength, and endurance.
  • Goal Setting: Therapy goals are developed based on evaluation results and informed by parent and caregiver input, ensuring personalized and meaningful outcomes for your child’s physical development.
  • Engaging Sessions: Sessions are interactive, motivating, and designed to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and functional skills through enjoyable and practical activities that promote your child’s progress.
  • Family Collaboration: Parents and caregivers actively participate in the therapy process, receiving strategies and tools to support progress outside of therapy and help improve your child’s physical abilities at home.
