Speech Therapy

About Pediatric Speech Therapy

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) are licensed professionals who work with individuals experiencing a variety of communication disorders and delays, as well as difficulties with swallowing and feeding.

Areas We Address in Speech Therapy

  • Speech Sound Production: Helping children produce sounds clearly and comfortably to be understood by others.
  • Language Development: Supporting understanding (receptive language) and expression (spoken, signed, or augmented communication) in ways that align with the child’s communication preferences.
  • Social Communication: Empowering children to navigate social interactions, including conversational skills, nonverbal communication, and building meaningful relationships.
  • Fluency: Assisting children who experience disruptions in speech flow, like stuttering, in a way that respects their natural speech patterns and promotes confidence.
  • Voice: Supporting healthy and effective voice use when challenges arise with pitch, tone, or volume.
  • Feeding and Swallowing: Helping children develop safe and effective feeding and swallowing skills, including for those with sensory, motor, or medical needs.

What to Expect

  • Comprehensive Evaluations: We identify each child’s strengths and areas for growth through thorough assessments.
  • Goal Setting: Therapy goals are developed based on assessments and informed by parent input to ensure meaningful and individualized outcomes.
  • Engaging Sessions: Sessions are interactive and designed to promote progress in a way that is motivating for children.
  • Family Collaboration: Parents/caregivers are active participants in the process and receive strategies to support progress outside of therapy.
